Anyone who is well informed about the software and the media world is well aware of the term piracy. In more legal terms we can call piracy as copyright infringement of software. It is a crime and is growing worldwide. Governments have tried to put a check on these crimes but with every law there come a way of breaking it. There are several malpractices which come in the category of piracy. Nowadays we have pirated copy of almost any software or movies or games. You name it, and you will get it.
World over there has been a lot of hue and cry regarding pirated copy but the enforcement of law is not the same everywhere. But the sad part is that people prefer pirated copies than the original ones because they are cheaper but just as good as the original one.
Pirated copy of software is distribution of a software that has been legally allowed to be used in only one computer but it is passed on to several users thereby stealing the money that is supposed to go to the manufacturers of the original software.
Piracy has different forms. The main one being when one does not buy the required licenses to use particular software. Over the internet we can download movies before they are released, we can get pirated copy of the movies anywhere on the net. This is again a form of illegal piracy. Many defaulters involved with selling pirated copy knowingly distribute the copies and have made millions out of this industry.
The worst part about buying pirated copy is that they do not come with any guarantee. It is not sure whether the software purchased illegally will work properly when installed and then there is no guarantee whether the money invested will be worthwhile or not.
