Game backup is the term given to any method by which an alternate copy of the game is stored in a location, apart from it source. A backup is generally created have a copy of the game, in case the original source file gets deleted. It is similar to creating a backup for your PC and there are various methods to do it. 

 

The most common way of creating a game backup is to copy the files to another location apart from the source folder. By doing this we ensure that we have a duplicate copy of the game housed elsewhere in the system. But this method proves ineffective if your whole system crashes taking away all the data with it.
