All gamers with a play station 2 at their disposal, sometime or the other in their gaming life, face the question – ‘How to copy PS2 games?’ As a matter of fact, PS2 games need backup so that they can be used, in case the original copy in the play station is stolen, lost or for some reasons, becomes corrupted.

Given the level of obsession that a gamer has to his PS2, it is more than a mere necessity that he has a copy of his priceless games with him. Yes, other than making a copy of his games which is a bit tedious job, he can very well opt for repurchase of the games from the market. But, for the saner and cost-conscious horde of gamers, making a copy of their PS2 games is a better option.

There are three important steps that are to be taken care of before undertaking this process. The first step is to ensure the compatibility of the software that helps copying the games. It is a pre-requisite to know whether the software is capable of coping PS2 games and secondly that whether it can overcome the newly installed FADE the anti-piracy software in the PS2. If both these aspects are found satisfactory, then the usual queries about the software like its cost, assured quality of copying, ease of its use, etc are to be taken into further consideration.

Second step that needs to be decided is the media into which the games are to be copied. The PS2 games back-up can be taken into CD-ROMS and DVDs. Of the two, DVDs are preferred as they provide better quality copies.

Third step is to decide whether PS2 MOD chips or PS2 boot discs are to be used in order to overcome the built-in protection in the PS2 systems, which prohibits playing of back up games. In the case of PS2 MOD chips, they are to be installed inside the PS2 console and the same requires soldering of some wires, etc which could be a bit troublesome. On the other hand, simple PS2 boot discs are just required to be placed into the console before the actual play of the back-up copy. These three steps ensure that normal play can be resumed on the PS2, even if the original copy of games is lost one day.

Thus, for those who wish to have an uninterrupted season of gaming, even in the case of damage incurred to the original copy, making a back-up copy of PS2 games is easily implemented using these steps.
