You must have come across several websites talking about game backup and never known what it actually means. Game backup is the term given to any method by which an alternate copy of the game is stored in a location, apart from it source. A backup is generally created have a copy of the game, in case the original source file gets deleted. It is similar to creating a backup for your PC and there are various methods to do it.

The most common way of creating a game backup is to copy the files to another location apart from the source folder. By doing this we ensure that we have a duplicate copy of the game housed elsewhere in the system. But this method proves ineffective if your whole system crashes taking away all the data with it.

Another way of creating a game backup is by using a copy software that is widely available on the internet. The software automatically create a backup for the game and have the ability to do it for different gaming consoles such as Nintendo, Playstation, Xbox 360 etc. The standard procedure to be followed while using the software is summarized in the following points:

  • Insert the original game disc into your computer and the software will create a duplicate copy of the game.

  • After having created a copy, remove the original disc and insert a blank disc on which the backup is to be created.

  • The software will then burn the game backup onto the disc in the console format of you choice.

  • You now have now successfully created a backup for your game.

Creating a game backup gives you the advantage of not only having multiple copies of the game but also enables you to use it on the gaming console of your choice.
